1. MANUFACTURER
Shall mean a manufacturer of plumbing products
which are generally required to conform to the quality and standards
of SABS product specifications and the relevant SANS Codes of
Practice.
2. MERCHANT
Shall mean a retail merchant or wholesaler of
plumbing products selling direct to the plumbing contractor, or the
public … the products shall meet the quality and standards of SABS
product specifications and the relevant SANS Codes of Practice.
3. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR
Shall mean a plumbing contractor trading in the
construction or maintenance sections of the plumbing industry who
employs qualified plumbers.
A qualified plumber means an apprentice who has
passed a Department of Labour plumbing trade test or a plumber who
holds a (CETA) National Certificate in Construction Plumbing at NQF
Level 3.
4. ASSOCIATE MEMBER
Shall mean any person or business that works in
association with the plumbing industry. For example Training
Colleges, Service Providers, Building Control Officers, Local
Authorities, Insurance Companies or Government Departments.
5. APPLICATIONS FOR IOP(SA) MEMBERSHIP
A. New membership applications can be

can forward you an official application form by fax or email.
Plumbing contractors must supply a copy of
each qualified plumbers Department of Labour trade test
certificate or a CETA NQF Level 3 plumbing certificate, which is
verified with the Department of Labour or the CETA.
