IOP(SA) MEMBER BENEFITS

1. IOP(SA) MEMBERS receive their own personal copy of the Plumbing Africa Magazine, which incidently is the official journal of the Institute of Plumbing SA.

2. IOP(SA) MEMBERS are invited to attend manufacturers product presentations at the Institute’s plumbers meetings in each Region on a regular basis throughout the year. The aim of these meetings is to keep plumbers technical knowledge up to date.

3. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS have the advantage of being able to obtain a number of official contract documents that will assist them to trade in a more professional manner.

4. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS receive regular updates on the latest changes to SABS/SANS Codes of Practice, including any revisions to legislation regarding plumbing regulations, and how this will affect local authority byelaws.

5. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS can contact the national office for guidance on how to enter into a plumbing apprenticeship training program, or alternatively a CETA plumbing learnership training agreement.

6. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS can obtain vehicle decals from the national office direct or they can order them from the national office Tel : 011 477 4563.

7. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS can now obtain navy blue weatherproof jackets, IOP(SA) badges, golf shirts, T shirts and caps from the national office.

8. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS can ask the Institute to mediate in any contract dispute they may have with a client or consultant over plumbing work they have installed, which is in dispute.

9. IOP(SA) PLUMBING CONTRACTORS can expect to notice in the very near future that the days of unqualified plumbers working for insurance companies are very definitely numbered.

IOP(SA) has recently been appointed by three of the largest insurance companies to provide listings of IOP(SA) registered plumbing contractors to replace non registered plumbing contractors on their service panels.
